Join us for a "Celebration of Fabric and Thread" at our beautiful St John's Anglican Church, Portsmouth.

Here you will discover a display of traditional and contemporary quilts and wall hangings, made by the Kingston Heirloom Quilters. Enjoy a beautiful display of many different styles of embroideries, like Blackwork, Whitework, Goldwork, Hardanger, Crewel, Cross-stitch, Kantha, Mountmellick, Sashiko, Schwalm, Smocking, Stumpwork and others, all hand-embroidered by members of the Cataraqui Guild of Needle Arts.

There will also be a display of bobbin lace made by the "Lupins and Lacemakers".

For one day only, you can

  • Meet the Quilters and Embroiderers
  • See many hand quilted quilts with some stitched entirely by hand
  • "Care and Repair" of quilts (Bring your quilted treasures that need some TLC if you don't know what to do. We'll suggest possibilities.)
  • A Boutique with an assortment of items for sale made by the guilds
  • See and maybe purchase quilts for sale
  • Purchase supplies from our three vendors.
    Note:
  • There will be no refreshments.
  • Parking available on the street
