Award Winning Quilts

Mary Ann McAndrew's "Common Dreams" won $1000 for "Bed Quilt" at the 2007 Canadian Quilter's Association National Juried Show. See the Autumn 2007 issue of The Canadian Quilter for more pictures.

Marg Henshaw's "Hexagon Rose" won "Best Handwork Traditional" at the 2007 World Quilt Show XI, and $1000 for "Bed Quilt" at the 2006 Canadian Quilter's Association National Juried Show. See the Autumn 2006 issue of The Canadian Quilter for more pictures.

Mary Ann was also a proud entrant in the World Quilt Show XI which will be touring in the U.S. (7 different venues) until next May. This quilt was made of thousands of 1" hexagons. I don't have a picture at the moment, so I can't show it to you. It was also in the 2006 Canadian National Juried Show and can be seen in the 2006 Autumn issue of The Canadian Quilter. Note that Linda Hetherington, also from Kingston, entered a piece to this world show and placed second in the Canadian quilts. I'm told the Canadian quilts shown at this show are truly impressive and include three quilts from Kingston, and a fourth from the Ottawa area.

Well done ladies!
